Overview
The Aurevant AV-QC Electrolyte Control is a liquid, ready-to-use multi-level quality control material specifically formulated for the monitoring of precision and accuracy of electrolyte measurements. It is intended for use with direct ion-selective electrode (ISE) methods and other electrolyte assays that determine sodium (Na⁺), potassium (K⁺), chloride (Cl⁻), ionized calcium (iCa²⁺), pH and related parameters.
The control is prepared in a human-based matrix to improve commutability with patient samples. Being liquid and ready-to-use, it requires no reconstitution, reducing preparation time and the potential for reconstitution errors. After opening, the material demonstrates good open-vial stability when stored at the recommended temperature, supporting consistent daily quality-control practices.
Assayed target values and acceptable ranges are provided on a lot-specific value sheet for each level. The control is designed for use with the Aurevant AV-ISE Pro 5 electrolyte analyzer as well as the optional ISE modules of the AV-Chem series, and is also suitable for other open-system ISE and electrolyte analyzers after laboratory validation.
