Overview

The Aurevant AV-Remote Service Module is a secure connectivity solution developed by Aurevant Medical to provide authorized technical support teams with controlled, encrypted remote access to AV-Chem series clinical chemistry analyzers and the AV-ISE Pro 5 electrolyte analyzer.

When enabled by the laboratory, the module establishes a secure outbound connection that allows Aurevant-trained service engineers to review system logs, error histories, reagent and QC status, optical performance data and configuration settings in real time. This capability significantly reduces the time required to diagnose issues, often eliminating the need for an initial on-site visit.

The module also supports secure delivery of software updates, parameter file adjustments and remote-assisted calibration or alignment procedures under laboratory supervision. All remote sessions are fully logged, time-limited and require explicit laboratory authorization. Data transmission is encrypted and the connection can be disabled at any time by laboratory staff.

The AV-Remote Service Module is designed to improve analyzer uptime, reduce service response times and lower the overall cost of ownership while maintaining strict laboratory control over data privacy and system access. It is supplied as a software/firmware-enabled feature with optional dedicated network appliance for laboratories that prefer hardware-based isolation.

This product is an original Aurevant Medical solution intended for professional laboratory use. It forms a key part of Aurevant’s proactive service and support offering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Remote Service Module require open inbound ports on our firewall?

No. It uses a secure outbound-only connection. No inbound ports need to be opened.

Can Aurevant access the analyzer at any time?

No. Every remote session requires explicit laboratory authorization and is time-limited. The laboratory can terminate the session at any moment.

Is patient data visible during a remote session?

By default the module provides access only to technical logs, error data, QC and instrument status. Patient results and demographics are not transmitted unless specifically required and approved for a particular support case.

Can we use the module on multiple analyzers?

Yes. Each compatible analyzer can have the Remote Service Module enabled independently.

Is a dedicated hardware appliance required?

No. The standard implementation is software/firmware-based. An optional dedicated network appliance is available for laboratories that prefer additional hardware isolation.

How does this improve service response?

In many cases Aurevant engineers can diagnose the root cause and either resolve the issue remotely or arrive on site with the correct parts and preparation, significantly reducing downtime.

Can we disable the module completely?

Yes. Laboratory administrators can enable or disable the Remote Service Module at any time through the analyzer’s security or network settings.
